Thought for the Week: Shared Vision

At the core of any team development moving forward is a shared vision of the end result. It's the individual accomplishments directed, focused and added together for a common goal that create uncommon results.

Thought for the Week: Stories

Don't you just love a good story? I mean, doesn't everyone? What's your story? When asked why you do what you do, or what got you started in your current career, is your answer "I needed a job they offered" or "I like working numbers and became an accountant". I'll bet there is a story behind either of those or the thousand other possibilities. So, sit back and remember your story.

Now make it a "Readers Digest Condensed Version" (showing my age a bit there). Short, interesting and of course true. Try a couple answers like that and judge the response. And, don't you usually remember a good story? Don't you want to be remembered? OK! Go out there this week and enjoy telling your story and being remembered!

Thought for the Week: Giving

giving to othersA great habit to have, giving. Try it. Go to your next networking event where your number one goal is to help someone. I'll bet, if you are successful, you will experience a wonderful feeling of satisfaction. A feeling you will want to repeat again and again. The awesome thing about this is it's a win-win situation because after awhile you will be NOTICED and you will build the reputation as a GIVER. A pretty good reputation to have and a habit that will BUILD your business. Yes, GIVE & YOU SHALL RECEIVE! The real secret though, is to give without any expectation of return. Just give and give and the miracles will happen. It's universal law.

Thought for the Week: Purpose

Last week on Friday at the Club we had an all day event with speakers on a variety of subjects including networking. I opened the show for breakfast @ 8:00 a.m. and I was followed by Alana Muller (Coffee - Lunch - Coffee). After her presentation about HER "purpose" she challenged us all to come up with our purpose in five, yes 5, words to describe our purpose. She had done this for herself. When I sat down Saturday afternoon I came up with - "Connecting people to a better life". Then, after a few hours, and a lot of thought, I changed it. The word better bothered me because I thought better than what? So, at this point, I describe MY PURPOSE as:

"Connecting people to an enriched life of friendships"

What's your purpose? Can you describe you purpose in five words? It took me eight. If you do come up with one let me know what it is.

What a GREAT, FABULOUS, AWESOME Celebration for our FIRST anniversary. You (the Members) are some of the best business professionals gathered in one collective group of support I have ever had the privilege to associate with.

Thought for the Week: Curiosity

curiosity killed the catI have mentioned many times about asking questions to keep yourself listening and learning about your new contact. I even have a white paper with a variety of questions as examples to use to keep yourself focused. But the truth is, you don't need that! If you are truly curious - yes, curious - that curiosity will fuel your questions with a true wanting to learn, adding a natural comfort level with the person you are communicating with, creating a huge step forward in the relationship building progress. Curiosity may have killed the cat but it helps create referral partners.

It's here - - "THIS WEEK" - - Thursday - - An evening of celebration - - connecting - - having fun - - meeting lots & lots of new contacts - - Please join us - - Guests Welcome - - and it's FREE!!!

Taking Risks

This week's thought is about taking risks. Just like my thinking that given the chance for a new format people would flock to FB and LinkedIn to get my thoughts about connecting and building relationships. NOT! One person did and another went in to do it and saw she already liked b2bc.

So, I’ll take a couple steps back and do it again.

Nothing in life increases your opportunity of growth like taking Positive, Planned Actions toward the original thought that created the risk in the first place.

I know you have heard; “It is better to have tried and failed than to have not tried at all.”

Go ahead... go out there this week and take a risk, or even two. Just tell them - - - "Bob made me do it!"
